There is a cold snap forecast to hit Topeka next week so I decided to bust out hats for a pretty awesome couple I know through Silverbackks. Kim’s hat is detailed on this post and Ami’s is on another.
I tend to prefer designs more on the minimal side, with less lace and frou-frou. The Man Hat caught my eye and I decided to do a more ladylike take on the design. I used the mistake rib pattern for the brim and went into regular stockinette for the crown. I’m really quite pleased with it!
- Pattern: Haven Ashley’s Man Hat
- Yarn: Malabrigo Twist in the Ravelry Red colorway. Project used 51 grams of a 100 gram skein.
- Needles: KnitPicks Options fixed circular in US8. DPNs of unknown origin for the crown.
- Cast On: 88 stitches using Jeny’s Stretchy Slipknot Cast-On
Once again, this is not Kim! This is me and my round melon, trying to be a model.
