This recipe comes to us courtesy of the lovely and talented Shereen from Disney Duo. I made this last night and really enjoyed it. It was even better for breakfast the next morning!

Bacon-Jalapeño Cheese Ball
Recipe type: Starters
  • 8 slices bacon
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans
  • 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 jalapeños with ribs & seeds removed, finely chopped
  • crackers for serving
  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Allow to cool slightly, then crumble & divide in half.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread the pecans on a parchment-lined baking sheet & toast for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, parsley, garlic, cumin, cayenne pepper, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, half of the minced jalapeños and half of the crumbled bacon until well combined.
  4. On a large plate, stir the toasted pecans, remaining minced jalapeños & remaining crumbled bacon together. Shape the cream cheese mixture into a ball. The mixture will be sticky and is easiest to shape with slightly wet hands. Roll the cheese ball in the pecan mixture until coated on all sides.
  5. Cover and chill for at least an hour before serving.
Like a little heat? Leave some of the ribs and seeds on the peppers for a hotter spread. Shereen reports that this is one that you’ll get repeat requests for!
